We had the good fortune of connecting with Jameelah Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jameelah, what are you inspired by?
I’m inspired by my resilience! I have to remember to give myself grace on the things of the past. I have to continue to remind myself that everything I went through was an opportunity to push me to my next.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m currently a Human Resource Business Partner by day. But to the core of who I am is a creative. I am now stepping into my calling that God has placed on my life, I finally said “YES”! You can’t really fit me into a box of just one word, I am so many things all at once.
(Human Resource Business Partner, Evangelist, Prophetess, Mentor, etc) The list goes on and on! Haha

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Texas has so many areas of activities, you can’t visit them all! But I love to eat and eating is for the soul! We would first go to the movies, then probably hit up the stockyards in Fort Worth! 7th street has so many attractions for social life. I would the take my best friend to the Fort Worth Zoo, I LOVE animals. And then we would stop at the Water Gardens and just be in nature. Spas are my go to for relaxation, 90 minute Hot rock massage to end the day!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to shout out those in my family who consistently believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I owe everything to God! He is such an important role in my life and having a personal relationship with him is my ROCK! No one, and I mean no one can take away my faith. Jesus is my foundation and his love is not selective, it is for everyone!
