We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaleah Ledford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaleah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking the risk is one of the key factors in starting your own business and working for yourself. I have noticed that when I take a risk and bet on my self it always pays me back double. Taking a risk feels like getting on a roller coaster for the first time you’re nervous you’re anxious you’re not sure if this is something you should do. You want to play it safe but that’s never the best option you have to bid on yourself and it is the best decision I’ve ever made. Sometimes taking that risk you may fail but failure is how you learn its how you grow you don’t come out the womb already knowing how to do something. so take that risk make that bet and one day it will pay off
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is a collection of what makes me happy. It is a combination of colors characters and real life. I stayed focused on my goals that’s how I got to where I am today. I wish I could say it was a walk in a park and everything came to me easily and I didn’t have to struggle to be where I am but I would be lying. I went through a process of questioning myself is this something that I really want to do. I even asked myself do I deserve this opportunity. My friends and family reassured me that I am walking in my path once i toom time to reflect I knew this is where I needed to be. I learned anything worth having you have to work hard for it’s not just going to come to you out of the sky. You have to put that work in you have to believe in yourself and you have to know that you deserve everything you want out of life. I want the world to know that I worked hard to be where I am and I’m going to continue to work even harder to get further than where I am. My brand is a reflection of me and what makes me happy and I want to bring joy to others.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m actually really becoming a homebody I don’t get out much I prefer to stay in and paint work on my craft and develop my skills. If we were to go out we’re gonna go get some great food from a hole in the wall somewhere in Dallas. We will go visit some art shows it is always a great event happening in the city. I love live music and I have a few friends that are performing artist/ musical artist so we would definitely be somewhere catching a vibe.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this article to my friends and my supporters. The people that believe in me before I believed in myself.
