We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaime Morse and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaime, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We have all been members at gyms where there was a certain degree of favoritism, privilege or cliques. Our goal was to creat an environment that was truly welcoming to everyone regardless of experience, fitness level, personal preferences, background or beliefs. We wanted the hour people spent with us to be the best hour of their day that they dedicated to themselves. No drama, no thinking, no judgment, just the feeling of accomplishment. We also wanted to use our knowledge and experience to help change the stigma around CrossFit and injury. So many people have to build the courage to walk into a gym (any type of gym) for the first time and then end up sidelined due to injury. CrossFit is meant to be functional fitness for anyone at any stage in life. We aim to guide people in the safest possible way and work around any obstacles they have encountered previously so that physical fitness becomes a lifestyle not just a phase.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We open this gym for a very specific purpose, and that was to help improve the lives of as many people as possible. We wanted to do this in a way that was supportive and uplifting of all of our members, regardless of level of fitness. We have been very invested in the members and the way that they treat one another on top of helping to hold everyone accountable to meet their goals. One of the owners background is specifically in sports medicine and we made it a point with our programming and our coaching to include injury prevention tactics so that people are able to maintain their fitness levels and improve and reach their goals with as low risk as possible.

Gyms are very unique business in the sense that people are expected to pay money and to work hard themselves. They are not purchasing a product and being handed the results on a plate. It is still up to them to put in the work. That being said, we feel very honored to have members that really value our gym and what they get from us every day they show up.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are four owners that came together in an effort to provide a CrossFit gym that truly encompasses community, healthy lifestyle and a little healthy competition. We have a strong focus on empowering every individual member as well as injury prevention and education.
