We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaelyn Grier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaelyn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Kenzie’s Korner, a girls boutique catering to infants, toddlers, and big girls, was created solely for the purpose of leaving my daughter a legacy. I found out I was pregnant with MaKenzie my senior year of undergrad. I was extremely emotional, scared, and confused but I know that God never puts more on us than we can handle. Giving birth to MaKenzie changed my life. It lit a spark under me. It brought out this inner go getter that I didn’t even know I had in me. I finished college with two month old Kenzie on my hip. She is my very own bestfriend & certainly the best thing that ever happened to me. Currently, I run Kenzie’s Korner as well as my own Branding & Graphic Design business called Branding by Jae. We offer website design, graphic design, and branding services. I graduate with my masters degree in May and Kenzie will be right there to cheer me on again. She is my motivation for everything I do.

What should our readers know about your business?
Kenzies Korner is one of a kind because it was built by us. I would stay up all night for weeks straight researching, I spent months testing out products, and Kenzie spent hours dressing up for me & giving her stamps of approval.This is something we are both actually really passionate about and not just a quick buck to be made. I believe that is what sets us apart. You can tell when something is earned, not given. On our launch day, we completely sold out in less than 24 hours. I am so proud of our success because we have worked very hard & always put God first. So far, I am most proud of our growth. Kenzies Korner has sold to customers in 32 states and counting. My Mother, Crystal, raised me to be strong & resilient. My Father, Will. raised me to be kind, inquisitive, and focused. I owe all of my success to them.
