We had the good fortune of connecting with Jada Atchu Yudom and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jada, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I actually have two.
“If your success is not on your own terms, if it looks good to the world but does not feel good in your heart, it is not success at all.”
you’re going to face challenges in your life. You are either going to quit or you are going to overcome them. the meaning of Success is “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose”. My definition of success is to keep going until you achieve the goal you want. The goal you set for yourself. If someone tells you that you did your best and feel like you could have done better. Then you get up and you start again until you achieve better. Success comes from within, and until you feel like you have accomplished your goal and you have earned it. Don’t let someone’s definition of success change yours. That is what I strive for to make my organization, the best it can be.
: “This too will pass”
It reminds me that whatever hardships you go through don’t last forever. When you overcome it, you will look back and be proud that you didn’t give up. It also works whenever you are going through a period of happiness, you will wish that it never goes away but it will. It will teach you to savor the good times.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We believe that mental health needs to be prioritized from an early age. Most of the time, psychological conditions start developing in youth and then worsen as time goes by, mainly due to getting neglected. If youth receives proper intervention at the beginning stages, they won’t be as vulnerable to certain conditions when they get older. We strive to create a haven where you can come and share your story. Meet others who have gone through the same thing as you. By making a website and inviting people to share their stories online. Getting more people to help us make it possible. The challenging part for me was maintaining a school/work balance. To be patient with people and to take time to listen to people, and to see things from their perspectives. We just want the world to know that Revive is going to work hard to destigmatize mental health.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t go out a lot. My definition of a weekend hangout would be a sleepover at one of our houses. If I had to pick a spot to visit it would probably Legacy west. There are a lot of restaurants to eat at. Places to do window shopping at. You can just walk around as well.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My sister is the reason I decided to join Revive and help it become what it is today. She inspires me to help people like her. People who don’t have an outlet to tell their story. She is autistic and I struggle communicating with her. I want to help people in my situation who don’t know what to do. When someone they love is going through something they can’t understand.
