Meet Itai Koriat | Founder of Rolada

We had the good fortune of connecting with Itai Koriat and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Itai, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business, Rolada, was centered not only on my passion for filmmaking but also on my desire to provide a platform for others to share their creative visions! After creating a short that had unexpectedly turned into a music video, The potential, and opportunity to pursue my passion as a career grew ten-fold. I strongly believe that everyone has a unique story to tell and should have access to an easy and straightforward way to do so.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets us here at Rolada apart from others is our constant want to treat everyone from team member to client like a member of our family, truly getting to know them for who they are not just creatively but as a person as well. Getting to where we are now wasn’t easy but we still have a long way to go. As a recently launched production house and creative collective, problems tend to arise in the places you least expect them to be. From the client to the team side, we have managed to solve these issues with open communication and general good faith.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Recently my best friend visited Denton, and there is no better place to open their stay than a dinner on the LSA Terrace overlooking the square. this quickly followed by ice cream from Beth-Maries is truly great for capping off that first day. the following couple of days had a good bit of travel around the town. from a hike at Goatmans Bridge during the day to the Denton mini-mall and the vintage lizard right off the square. restaurants such as Dix Coney Island or El Taco H are always where great conversations are to be had and Rubber Gloves, Kava Culture Bar, and Killers Tacos offer a great environment to relax with your friend to.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Firstly I would like to dedicate a Big Thank you to my old AV teacher in high school, Mr. Jim Dirkes. he was a constant inspiration and support, especially during the covid lockdowns. Next, the crews of my original shorts, which were filmed in mid to late 2021 as none of this would have been possible without those first couple of steps. And, lastly, all of my friends, family, and loved ones who have been nothing but supportive along the way.
