Hi Isela, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
From my early years, adapting to the American way of life while maintaining my Mexican roots was a balancing act that has shaped who I am today. Mastering the language in the first year was a significant milestone, it was then that I started to immerse myself in school activities and athletics. These experiences not only aided my integration but also sparked my interest in healthcare, a field that I am now proudly part of. Yet, amidst these changes, I never lost sight of my Mexican heritage. In fact, my upbringing continues to influence my work and aspirations. My commitment to making my family proud, representing my homeland, and demonstrating the potential of immigrants is unwavering. It’s these values that have propelled me forward and fueled my success.

I have found that photography is a great outlet to express my appreciation for who I am and the complex story of where I come from. Since then, it has been an integral part of my creative journey. My objective when taking any photo is to capture emotion – be it joy, nostalgia, or pride – in order to share with others what these moments mean to me. Every click of the shutter captures a soulful perspective and a story of my multifaceted Mexican-American identity. I strive to create honest, heartfelt imagery that sparks meaningful conversations about our shared experiences. With each photo I take I hope to tell a story that resonates with many.

Photography is an art form that speaks to my heart, allowing me to freeze a certain moment in time and express it how I see fit. Through its lens I am able to capture emotion and illustrate the beauty of life that can sometimes be taken for granted. It’s a tool which allows me to transform everyday scenes into deeply personal images with endless potential.
I am also a mother. A wife. A nurse. A Latina entrepreneur striving to make a mark in a competitive industry. This diverse array of roles does not overwhelm me; instead, it empowers me. It shapes who I am and contributes immensely to my unique perspective, enriching my work both as a healthcare professional and as a photographer. My experiences as a mother, wife, and nurse instill in me a deep understanding of life’s complexities, which reflects in my photography. As a Latina entrepreneur, I am cognizant of the challenges that come with forging a path in a competitive field. Yet, I am equally excited for the opportunities it presents. I am committed to using my platform to make a difference, to share stories that matter and to portray the captivating beauty of our diverse world. I believe in the power of a single photo to inspire change and create a lasting impact.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a photographer, my goal is to not only capture moments but to also convey the emotions tied within them. When I look through the lens, I immerse myself in the scene, feeling every emotion that is being displayed in front of me. Each picture I take reflects to the emotions I felt in that moment. I strive to create images that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also emotionally powerful. Through countless hours of practice, exploration, and perseverance, I’m mastering the art of capturing moments and emotion through my lens. I transformed my passion for photography into a thriving business in less than a year.

This journey, though challenging at times, has been truly fulfilling and I’m proud of the growth I’ve achieved. Reflecting on my journey, I am indeed proud to have made a mark in a field that is both competitive and demanding.The satisfaction I derive from the positive and encouraging feedback from my clients is a rich reward in itself. From capturing pregnancy announcements for first-time parents to having the privilege of meeting their newborns months later, every moment is a testament to my growth and success.

The gratification that comes from witnessing joy and love through my lens and being able to freezing these moments for my clients is a constant affirmation of my dedication and progress as a self-taught photographer and entrepreneur.As a photographer, my sincere hope is that my work continues to evoke wonderful memories for countless families for many years to come. My aim extends beyond merely capturing images, I strive to establish a deep connection with each of my clients, leaving a lasting and fulfilling impression of the experience they’ve had with me. I believe the essence of photography lies not just in the visual appeal of the pictures, but in the stories they narrate and the emotions they capture. It is this principle that drives my passion and guides my work.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My journey in photography wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of my husband. His faith in my abilities and his constant encouragement have been the pillars of my photography business. His contribution extends far beyond moral support, as he ensures I have all the resources I need to push my boundaries further. In addition to my husband, the support system that comprises my family and close friends has been absolutely invaluable. Their constant presence and uplifting spirit have provided me strength in challenging times.

Furthermore, my part-time job has given me an incredible team to work with. The work-life balance they offer is not only beneficial for my family life but also crucial for my photography business. Our small, close-knit team knows each other on a personal level which creates a nurturing and supportive environment. Their endorsement and cheerleading for my photography business from day one have been immense.

Lastly, I cannot conclude without expressing my immense gratitude towards my clients. I am immensely proud and thankful for the relationships I’ve built with them. They are more than just clients; they are the heart of my business, my constant source of inspiration, and my greatest supporters. Their trust and loyalty have been a driving force behind my success, making them the BEST clients one could ever wish for.

I wholeheartedly believe God gave me this gift for photography for a reason far beyond what I can comprehend. The ability to capture the essence of a moment through the lens is in its own way a calling. Through this medium of artistic expression, I have encountered and reconnected with numerous individuals, further affirming my belief that this path was destined. This journey of creating art through the photographic lens is one I am eager to continue, enriching my life and those I encounter along the way.
