We had the good fortune of connecting with Ise’ah Bentley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ise’ah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I honestly have been working since I was 13 years old. I’ve had two or three jobs from the age 17 until currently and was raised by a single mother. I decided long ago that God has blessed me with so many talents and gifts, I just needed a chance or opportunity to develop them. Starting my own business was never the plan but I knew that I didn’t want to make anyone else rich. I fell in love with creating and capturing people’s memories and it all kind of just fell into place, by the grace of God. I started 5 years ago today and never looked back. Natural Light has always been my vibe so ironically I named my business Naturel Vibe Media. I specialize in Portrait photography and cinematography but I honestly do it all. I’ve worked with Nike, Bacardi, Celebrities, Weddings, Engagements, Lifestyle and Branding, YouTube & Tik Tok Creators, Sports, Restaurants, Models, Real estate agents, musicians and more. They tell you when you first start to find a niche and stay there to grow. I say learn it all so you can do it all and grow.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
This entire journey has been a learning curve. Through the ups and downs. Feast and famine I’ve learned a lot bout myself and people. It has not always been as easy as it looks. I think people tend to see your highlights as reality not knowing the nights that you may have had to starve, literally. No food in the fridge, eviction notices, repossession letters, credit score at 420, anxiety and depression and bank accounts in the negative borrowing money to get by another day. This is not an easy choice, and it’s not a W2 lifestyle, you really have to believe, you never know when your next dollar is coming. All my gear, every computer, every flight, hotel and rental car has all been out of pocket through hard work, no credit cards; 2 & 3 different jobs at times. The joy of creating something from your brain and knowing you taught yourself everything whilst having nothing is rewarding in it self. My mom always taught me “do the best with what you got”. I don’t have the latest gear, the nicest cameras or lenses but this eye of mines is one of a kind. It’s made me thousands of dollars from hundreds of clients in Arizona, Missouri & Texas.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d definitely get some BBQ at Hutchins, maybe hit the Galleria and shop a Little. People watch downtown and find a little bar to get some drinks. Honestly there is so much to do in the DFW and I’m new here so I’m still learning myself but there are Endless adventures on the horizon

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Wonderful and Beautiful Mother, My Uncle who is like the father I never had, My big Brother Nate who was unfortunately murdered when I was 18, and my sweet Grandma, who has instilled my zest for different cultures, empathy for people and creativity. They have always pushed, motivated and inspired me to chase my dreams. And of course my lord and savior Jesus Christ. All the Glory in my story goes to God!
