We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabella and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isabella, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly I never started photography with the intention of staring my own business. I started photography in high school 2019 when I was accidentally enrolled in a beginner photography class. Going into it, I thought I was going to hate it but ended up falling in love. I started by taking pictures of my friends and family which eventually led to people asking me to take their senior photos. I had so much fun with it and eventually realized that this was something I could do and something I was good at.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Where I am now is kind of a long story but to sum it up no, it wasn’t always easy. I started my photography business primarily doing senior photos but I have always loved love. I am what you would consider a hopeless romantic and over time I realized that I could incorporate that into my art. That is when I started leaning more into couples. I take a lot of inspiration from film and literature. I view my art as visual poetry. I like to tell a story with my photography and capture genuine moments of love.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area I would take them on a tour all around Dallas and bring a roll of film with me. As a photographer I know a lot of great places to take pictures in Dallas. First I would take them down town, maybe check out the arboretum. Then we would go to the bridge of course, deep ellum and definitely check out Dealey Plaza.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my mom. I know it sounds cliche but my mother is and always has been my biggest supporter. She was a photographer and went to college for photography and when I started she was always in my corner. She would look at all my photoshoots and all my photos. She was always so involved. My mother recently passed away and she hasn’t been able to see the recent work I have been doing but I know that she is always with me and that she is rooting me on from heaven.
