We had the good fortune of connecting with IreQ Savage and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi IreQ, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Through the little success I’ve seen I have notice patterns that lead to good results. Creating routine when I can has helped stream lime work flow. If workflow is made easier than it’s possible to get more done in a shorter amount of time. Next, I would say making realistic goals that can be completed in a timely manner. I usually write heck list with goals on it. Only goals that I can actually achieve in that day, I want to feel as if I’m covering ground. Lastly, I would have to say I have made it a habit of seeking feed back about my work. As an artist sometimes critic can be very scary because presenting your art can leave you very vulnerable. Getting over this fear is essential in being okay with people having opinions on your work other than what you intended. Some of those opinions can help propel your work to the next level.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a multimedia artist, producer, rapper, sfx engineer & Video Editor. It’s been a long journey but I would say it’s really started in spring of 2016 when I decided to start releasing my music on the internet consistently. This was around the same time I got a job as a sfx engineer for a video game development company. My music started picking up traction lately from all the collaboration I have been a part through music online communities. Foster friends ships and doing work for other artist has helped me became part of networks with musicians that have strong followings. This hasn’t been easy because for a long time I had to balance working 40 hrs at a 9-5 and I am a father and husband now. I’m always doing something because my time is limited and I also feel that it’s essential for an artist to finish work to grow. I want the world to know that you are define by your character, work, & interactions. Authenticity is something that I pride myself on because what you see is what you get. I shoot people straight. I think it’s something I always had. It actually use to get me in trouble when I was in the military lol

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
(Excluding COVID) Okay I’m in Orlando, FL and I’m a big outdoors person. There is a lot of stuff to do here outside so I would say the firs day we will go to the springs. There are natural springs here you can swim in. Next day is the beach! There are multiple beaches here- the closed one is 45 mins away.. on the Third we can visit the science place and art museums here. I enjoy the art museum here and the science place is cool. 4 day I would try to do something local may visit a local dance bar or hit up one of Orlando’s popular scenes— like The Milk District. On the 5 day I would take friend to a play. There are always plays here so I would try to catch one of those. Day 6 we would go to rebounderz which is this giant indoor trampoline park. Also, we could visit Lake Euola which is giant lake in down town Orlando. Day 7, we take an in state road trip to Miami to party! Food wise everyday would be different but I would make sure to get Dominican, Puerto Rican, Brazilian & Jamaican food (all are huge in Orlando) and there is a big Vegan Scene here so I would take them to some know restaurants like DaJen Eats or Market on South.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would have to shout out Clear Vision Collective out Luis San Obispo, CA. It’s a music collective I became apart of last year that has help me foster relationships with artist, producers & engineers from The Netherlands, Canada, California, France, and England. My music has also been featured on there physical releases too.
