We had the good fortune of connecting with Inbal Baum and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Inbal, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
I feel the tangible “YES!!!” of success when I have created a win-win-win situation. For me this has meant that my clients are winning because they have a need filled and receive the best possible service and experience. WIN! For my chefs/culinary experts it means that they are getting gainful and meaningful employment doing what they love. WIN! For the small businesses that we are able to support in the products that we purchase to send to our guests, that also feels like a win. And for myself, in having created the business and circumstances that allow all of these winning moments to happen, in itself is a huge win!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Delicious Experiences was a pandemic pivot, that has now become a core business for myself and my company, the Delicious Group. For over a decade, I have been in the business of providing in-person food tours and culinary experiences through my company Delicious Israel. Naturally, when the pandemic hit, we had to re-evaluate how we will share our passion for food and beverage experiences with the world. Rather than just focus on Israeli cuisine, Delicious Experiences was born out of our desire to have global food experiences, despite being physically distant from that location.

What sets us apart from others is that we are doing this from a place of passion, and as a result are intensely customer service oriented. I am genuinely proud to know that across the globe, we are able to help bring a moment of joy into people’s days. From our corporate clients, we often hear how refreshing it was to be able to enjoy a business meeting (even if by video conference) with their clients and teammates, because it was something FUN that helped shift their day! I mean how cool is it, and what a great feeling I have knowing that I was able to create a business that allows people a joyous moment in their day, whether with family/friends or with colleagues.

We are also incredibly proud of the talented and entertaining chefs/culinary experts that are hosting our interactive events! Whether doing a chocolate tasting experience, a cocktail making class, or a cooking/baking session with chefs from around the world, we love that we are able to bring our guests the best-of-the-best!

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?

My path to getting to this place in my business was circuitous. I used to be an attorney, then a yoga instructor, worked in human rights, and a few other pit stops along the way. Ultimately, owning my own business felt like the natural way for me to create my win-win-win life. Like anything in life, there are humps and bumps to overcome, but when doing it for myself with my own path feels like I am better equipped to figure out the humps and bumps, or at least more motivated.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.

Delicious Experiences taught me an important lesson in business strategy, which is to build the business around solving our clients’ headaches. Our two main activities today are both solving headaches – for our corporate clients it is taking care of their clients and employees through events that we create and manage from A to Z. We realized how intense it is for our clients to – on top of everything else they are doing and going through – have to plan fun, virtual experiences. We can take over and our clients know that they can sit back and are in the best possible hands. The lesson here is that we are able to do what we do best, and let our guests do what they do best – everyone wins!

The other problem we love to solve is gift-giving in the COVID era. What a joy it is to know that people find us and say “thank you for existing, this is the perfect gift for my _____ (fill in the blank with spouse, in-laws, friends, etc)”. It is a headache that we LOVE to take care of, and for me on a personal level fills me with energy that is necessary to continue in this line of work.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, who is also my business partner, father of my children, travel companion and person who spends FAR more time with me than anyone should.
