We had the good fortune of connecting with Imani Aflleje and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Imani, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
It’s a funny thing; the Beauty Industry. It is a billion dollar industry and yet, so little has been shared about the production side of things over the years.

My name is Imani Aflleje and I have worked within the Beauty Industry for as long as I could work. At 16 I found myself working in a beauty department at Kohl’s, and over the years found myself learning more while working in Ulta, Downtown Dallas, Fashion Shows, TV Shows, and my personal esthetic practice in the DFW area. Over the years, a pattern has remained present.

Few brands create products to serve their customers that include clean ingredients (although many more are growing in this way), and even fewer specifically cater to sensitive skin. Some brands may include products for those with sensitive skin, but few create products with those specifically as their primary audience. From this collection, even fewer are faith-based brands. This is where my new skincare brand comes in!

In September of 2025, I will be sharing the launch of my first skincare brand. As an esthetician, my intention has been to combine all three of these elements in order to curate a new collection for my clients, and those who find themselves within a similar story. “Renew Skincare” will serve the community by being clean, sensitive, and edifying (a term meaning “to build up/encourage” in a biblical sense). While we wait for the official launch in September, I would love to get to know all new guests via social media! Visit shop_renewskincare via TikTok and Instagram and take this journey with us! I can not wait to meet you!

What should our readers know about your business?
I would love to introduce you to Renew Skincare! I wanted to create a clean skincare line that had natural ingredients-yet still looked luxurious! I didn’t want anyone to wonder “is this moisturizer or is this mayonnaise?” Haha. I love what the clean beauty world provides and so pairing this with an encouraging message was a no brainer. I wanted the items to be small reminders to everyone that God loves them and cared about every detail of their lives: even their face mask. Were His kiddos and He loves us! Wanted to create a small reminder of that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Great question!!! I think it depends on the friend! If they want to relax, definitely a small coffee shop in downtown McKinney followed by a day at Walls of Clay. If it’s a night out? I personally love Legacy West with its beautiful nightlife yet elevated environment.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shout out my husband Kellen Isaac with Luxe Obsession Salon in Prosper, Tx. He has an incredible eye for detail and provides excellent results for his clients.

I would also love to shout out my mother Melissa White with Lissa’s Custom Cookies! Not only is she my sweet mother, but also creates even sweeter sugar cookies.

Finally, I would love to shout out Kaylee Godley with her incredible customization of costumes, Alex with Wild Child Photography and Andi Rigg with RiggDesignCo for videography.
