Meet Igor Guillen | Wedding Photographer and Filmmaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Igor Guillen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Igor, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Most of my happiness originates from family and friends. The right kind of loveful human interaction in life is the single most important thing in my life. I love to be laughing with friends so hard that it hurts and to spend quality time with my family and kids, like snuggling on the sofa with my loved one or travelling together on a spontaneous road trip. I’m social and I love being together.

I also enjoy activates outside, feeling the sun on your face, hearing the ocean, nature, playing with my dog and going on adventures. Being active and seeing the world is important to my happiness.

Random act of kindness from a stranger and doing something for others, putting a smile in other peoples faces makes me also very happy. This is something that I’m able to do with my photography.
It makes me happy to be a part of peoples happy memories and to document them in an artistic and photojournalistic way.

Sometimes the smallest things in life makes me very happy, like chocolate melting in my mouth, waking up before the alarm and realising there’s more time to sleep, putting on a brand new pair of socks, picking an easy peel orange from the fruit bowl and the ‘pop’ when you open a new jar of peanut butter.

I love life and I love to photograph it and sharing it with people.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My photography studio Igor Photography is created from love and genuine interest of couples that are deeply in love. It’s a blessing to be able to document the most important events of people’s life, and to create images that they are going to enjoy for a lifetime, and also document their legacy with stunning images. I’m always curious to know about my couples and what makes them unique and happy. This approach makes it easier to create the images that they want.

Although I’m an easy going person and I always make sure that we have a great time during each shoot, I take my job very seriously and always behave in the most professional maner. Igor Photography & Films stand for creativity and professionalism.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a true Texas and Wild West experience, we will start the day with some old fashion Texas breakfast at the Ol’ South Pancake House in Fort Worth, afterwards we will go to sundance square for a downtown walk, we will then go to to the kimbell Art Museum to see some world-class paintings and sculptures.

For lunch we would go to Joe T. Garcia’s for some fantastic fajitas and margaritas. At night we will go to the Fort Worth Stockyards and stroll down the historic street with bars, and shops. We will then visit the Rodeo and Billy Bob’s and round out the night with a drink and live music at the White Elephant Saloon.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shootout goes to my mother Catherine that raised me as a single mother, and that gave me my strength, self-belief and morals. She is the most influential person in my life and career.
