We had the good fortune of connecting with Hunter Cauley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hunter, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
That having high marks in school is the sole, deciding factor in your financial success and social impact. And this is coming from an A student.
School is designed to teach you to work for someone else and build their dream. Can you live comfortably and make great money as an employee? Absolutely. But to make crazy “F you” money and leave whatever mark you want on the world is not tied to marks in a classroom. It’s tied to the desire to problem solve. It’s tied to being okay with failure. Most of the things I learned outside of class made me the entrepreneur I am now.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have never worked a traditional job. In college I built several businesses, the most successful of which took off and became a multi 6-figure retail investment group, where I explained equity markets and strategies to people who wanted to learn about the stock market. It was hard work, and time consuming, but I loved every minute of it. Eventually, though, you’ve made your money and you want to move o n to the next phase of your investment career. I switched from stocks to real estate, and now I am preparing to take advantage of this recession with my cash I’ve saved up from the market! Big shoutout to myRE360 for making me my first three bags in the real estate market!
My brand @thewealthhunter is all about my journey going from nothing in my pockets and no knowledge of the financial world to $52M in assets and becoming the go to person for others to learn about how money works/moves.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man I’m a huge foodie, and I’m very much a fan of bougie cigar and drinks culture. Dallas has a hell of a lot of great restaurants from Georgie’s to Il Bracco and so many places in between! I’d say start the day with a hike around white rock lake, maybe check out the arboretum, then head into deep ellum for lunch at Hibki for sushi and whiskey, follow that up with a trip to Javier’s and smoke a nice stogie, then finish the day by getting dressed for dinner at elephant East! Something along those lines!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
