We had the good fortune of connecting with Holly Self and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In 2007, as a young freshly married couple we jumped into our established (since the 90’s) family western wear business with hopes of continuing to build the business. I was 17 and Travis,19, we were growing a family, our love for one another, and a business all at once….it didn’t always come easy but we never gave up. We pushed through the hard times and celebrated the good. With my love for fashion and all things Texan and Travis’ country roots we built a business that we could call our own. On April 1 of 2012 a name change brought Diamond T Outfitters to life creating our own image in the western world. We are still family owned and operated; the epitome of a Mom and Pop store; with hopes of passing this gem down generation to generation. We would not be where we are today without the guidance and knowledge from my parents, and a few other key mentors in our lives. We are nestled in downtown Mount Pleasant inside the original 1920’s era Post Office, We are the perfect mix of western and mainstream clothing, bringing you the classic western and work wear along with the hottest trends in the western and fashion world.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Key spots to hit would be Nardello’s, try the pizza and margs! Go for ice cream after at The Sugar Emporium, and make sure you stop by our favorite candle shop, Ruby & Begonia. Of course stop in at Diamond T Outfitters, and do some shopping too! End the weekend with wining and dining at Los Pinos Winery.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents, Wyn & David Hoover. They led the way for me and taught me everything I know about owning a business.
