We had the good fortune of connecting with Helisa Warren and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Helisa, how do you define success?
My definition of success is walking in obedience to God. That was not always how I had defined “success” in years past. I’d look at it that I had to have the “right” job with the “right” money living in the “right” house. I quickly found out that does NOT define success. God chose us for greatness! It happens through walking out the process obediently.

God spoke over us about ourselves before He assigned you and me to a body. We were elected before He released us to come to earth, picked out for greatness as a word out of the Word. We are a gift from Heaven. Success happens when we walk out our purpose. It is intermingled with the good, bad and ugly in life. But God works it out for our good.

“Good” success is God-driven. When I walk obediently to God, I’m walking for why God created me; I’m empowered by the Holy Spirit and motivated by God’s love. It leads me to advance the kingdom of God.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The ministries I’m stewarding are an apostolic and prophetic worship ministry and training ministry. First, Helisa Warren Music is a worship music ministry on the cutting edge of elevating corporate worship. Its ultimate purpose is releasing the sound of Heaven on the earth through original instrumental and lyric songs. As the “sound waves” of the music release into the atmosphere, it shifts and reaches regions, territories, and nations. Secondly, Train 2 Regain is a training ministry that focuses on coaching, training, mentoring, and consulting individuals and groups. The mission is to inspire growth in the Kingdom of God.

These ministries took form after years of prayers and process. After college, the goal was to enter the music business field, but God had the “better” plan. I worked and served in many capacities in both the music and business fields. The experiences became stepping stones to lead me to create these ministries that are changing lives.

It was not easy. I prayed and cried through many personal hurts. Yet, I labored and developed through God, giving me insights, visions, and revelations. It pays off each day seeing God unfold His plan for these ministries.

Some lessons I’ve learned through the years are:
1. Listen carefully for/to God’s voice when there is chaos. (Calm your spirit down.)
2. God is faithful to His Word!
3. God is trustworthy…..no matter what!
4. Do not assume you know how God sees or wants to handle a matter/situation.
5. Prayer and worship walk hand-in-hand.
6. It pays to remain humble.
7. Stop defending God! Let Him defend you!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Dallas metroplex is full of things for the family, single groups, etc. With me being a history buff, I love visiting the various museums in the area. My favorite is the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. This museum shed more light on what happened on and around November 22, 1963.

The Texas State Fair is my ultimate favorite event of the year in Dallas. The best food and activities are at this event – from corn dogs to funnel cakes. I adjust my work schedule not to miss going to the fair each year.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents are my biggest supporters, next to Jesus Christ. Being brought up in a Christian home, I received a solid biblical foundation that I’m so grateful for today. My mother, who passed away in 2018, gave me the musical foundation – playing the piano and singing. She showed me my love for gospel/Christian music. As I grew in my musical abilities, the Lord taught me about prophetic and apostolic flow. My father, who is still alive, defines me as his daughter and a woman of God. We often talk about God’s faithfulness and how trustworthy He is. My father has guided me to use wisdom in my business and ministry. (With him being a former entrepreneur). I’m so thankful for his words of wisdom!!
