We had the good fortune of connecting with Hayden Vanskike and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hayden, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Courage is a very important value to me, you must have Courage to pursue your dreams. If you have lofty dreams like me and so many others, then you must persevere in your ventures with the conviction in your heart to achieve the dreams you dream of. Anything is possible as long as you act. Teddy Roosevelt once said, “Credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena…” I would recommend reading the rest of the quote if you ever feel discouraged.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Taking risks eliminates the possibility of looking back and asking yourself “what if?” Risk taking is an important skill to develop if you want to gain more experience and more knowledge within your business. First, you must give yourself permission to try out new things, to learn, to fail, to grow and to explore. Taking calculated risks will allow you to test your limits and go above and beyond what you believed was even possible. By taking such risks in my life I realized how resilient I could be, this allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and to explore new horizons such as graduating college or even establishing a newly successful business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The best place to visit in Fort Worth, Texas has to be the stockyards. They don’t call this city ‘Cowtown’ for no reason! There are tons of fun things to do and places to explore. If you’re looking for margaritas and good food on a beautiful patio don’t forget to check out Joe T. Garcia’s!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I credit my hardworking discipline to the father figures in my life who would take on projects big or small to further their families legacy. The creative in me comes from both sides of my family from which lots of designers and even architects emerged. I have always enjoyed being outdoors constructing things with whatever was handy. This upbringing has brought me to where I am today. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for my parents who brought me to this earth as well as my friends, my family and above all else God.
