We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Martin Laci Bracewell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah Martin, how does your business help the community?
Here at Ruby Cates Bake+Shop our motto is cookies – coffee – community. As we bake and brew artisan ingredients to satisfy the tastebuds, we also offer fellowship and hospitality to satisfy the soul. We hope all who enter Ruby Cates know how truly loved they are, and how honored we are to serve them, each day. We pray that within these doors, people feel a sense of community that then spills over into the outside world. We also strive to give back beyond these blessed walls. Whether it be sponsoring a local sports team or donating cookies to a friend in need, giving back to our community is our tried and true mission.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Ruby Cates was, to say the least, a dream turned reality. The stepping stones that led to where we are today are prophetic. The love of service, coffee, fellowship, and friends fell into place all in God’s timing. Living out our faith in love, through service, is the yardstick we use to measure our success; and, is at the root of all things we do. We choose each day to put in the work as individuals, and surround ourselves with likeminded people, working towards a common goal. There’s an old saying “show me your friends and I’ll show you your future,” and it rings true to this day. Our business achievements can be found in the communities we foster, the love we show to one another, and the drive to make things better for those we meet. Our success, personally & in business, to us, isn’t necessarily measured by obvious standards, but more so measured in happiness, peace, and support. Honoring the gifts God gave us while building a community that helps each other reach true purpose & potential is where our hearts truly lie.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some people love to take in the sights, some love to go and see shows, we, however, revolve our travels around our LOVE for FOOD! You can’t own a food business without a true passion for the art of flavor. We would obviously start at Ruby Cates on our way to the city for our house brewed coffee in the form of a cup of joy. Then we’d happy dance our selves on up to First Watch for their Million Dollar Bacon, you’ll thank us later. First thought as we head to the car, what’s for lunch? Even full, we power through heading straight over to 60 Vines. As you’re seated dive right in for their charcuterie board (dibs on the honey comb), it’s an experience in itself. For the main course you’ll want the Wagyu Burger with Duck Fat Potatoes, best this side of the Mississippi. Now on to the finale as we happy dance on over to The Rustic. Their you get the full package: food & live music inside and out, we love a good patio. Their menu has a vast variety that we can’t even think to narrow down. Along side their mouther watering courses, the places above have an atmosphere that makes our heart sing and ambiance that make us want to renovate our homes to match so we can enjoy them daily. *Looking for more? We tribute an honorable mention to one of our other favorite food spots: Rodeo Goat. Never heard of it? Do yourself a favor, skip the menu and order the Oaxaca Burger! Trust us, we wouldn’t steer you wrong this late in the game.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to our amazing team and the beloved community we have built. The Ruby Cates family is truly a gift. Your love & support brings a beautiful energy and when we walk into the bake+shop there is a true sense of comfort and fellowship in the air as if we have found our way home.
