Meet Hannah Claire Goodwin | Singer-Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Claire Goodwin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
At the heart of everything I’ve achieved is one simple truth: kindness and support go a long way. Music is built on community and on showing up for each other, celebrating one another’s successes, collaborating and jamming, and treating every musician with respect and gratitude. I believe in lifting others’ artistry up, whether that’s attending gigs, creating with new people, connecting online, or simply just hanging. Every step of my journey has been shaped by the incredible teachers, friends, family, and supporters who have believed in me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For me, music has always been about connection. My art is rooted in honesty and storytelling. I blend my jazz and R&B influences with my own songwriting and arranging to create moments that feel genuine to me.
What sets me apart is my ability to move comfortably between genres while keeping authenticity at the heart of everything I do. Whether I’m singing a jazz standard, reimagining a pop tune, or performing my own original work, I strive to bring sincerity, nuance, and authenticity while still paying homage to the tradition.
I’m most proud of the community I’ve built through music—the musicians, teachers, friends, and supporters who have been with me. I’ve been able to perform with incredible artists, travel, and share my music with audiences I never imagined reaching, and that’s something I don’t take for granted.
Getting to where I am today has not been easy. The music world can be intimidating, competitive, and full of moments that test your confidence. There have been times I felt unseen or doubted my place and abilities, but I’ve learned to push forward by leaning on my support system, staying true to my voice, and remembering why I started in the first place.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that kindness and professionalism open more doors than talent alone. Showing up for others—whether at their gigs, in the rehearsal room, or just as a friend—builds relationships that last far beyond one performance.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about me and my music, it’s that it comes from a place of love: love for the craft, love for the people who make it, and love for the listeners who give it meaning.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend came to visit, I’d 100% take them to hear some of my favorite musicians in the DFW area. A lot of my friends and mentors play at Steve’s Wine Bar in Denton, Triumph’s in Dallas, Winehaus in Fort Worth, and Pascal’s Bar in Denton. I also love the music
For non-music stuff, I love the Dallas World Aquarium, the Fort Worth Stockyards, and, honestly, just eating our way through all the Tex-Mex DFW has to offer. We’d have to hit Joe T. Garcia’s in Fort Worth for Mexican food in their gorgeous garden!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to take a moment to thank my parents, the most hardworking and selfless people I know. Even though they aren’t professional musicians, they’ve always been true lovers of music and made it a priority for me and my sisters. I grew up in a home where music was always playing, and where we were taught to listen deeply and appreciate it fully. I watched my dad work 16+ hour days to provide for us, and my mom spend long days on her feet so we could have music lessons. They gave us every opportunity they could, often putting our dreams ahead of their own. Their love and sacrifices has shaped the person and musician I am today.
