Meet Hadassah Brown | Fashion Influencer & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hadassah Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hadassah, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I believe that there is nobody who has seen nor who will ever see fashion in the same way that I see it. And I believe that my uniqueness, which lies in my passion for making people feel good about themselves physically, is exactly how my fashion content is benefiting my community and the world. I am thankful to have been able to create fashion content that helps people in general look good regardless of their socio-economic status. My business provides creative versatility tips to people who want to maximize what they already have in their closet. Similarly, it also provides fashion trendy ideas to people who want it and who are able to afford it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a fashion influencer and content creator based in the DFW metroplex. I have always been passionate about fashion. I find fulfillment in helping people feel good about themselves internally and externally. I loved fashion and saw it as the right outlet to help people feel good as they looked good externally. So, as scary and intimidating as it was to step into the fashion world which is very saturated by iconic and resourceful people, I started my fashion journey on social media in 2014. I was still in college back then and my pocket looked like that of a student for sure. I did not have the resources to buy clothes and create content as much as I wanted. I was only limited to buying trendy fashionable clothes for major occasions only such as birthdays or graduation. And even when I’d create fashion content for these major occasions, the content would perform so poorly online. The only people who would engage with my content back then were my family. That’s when thoughts of giving up started to creep in. I started to entertain the thought that maybe I was not as good as I thought or that there were others who were way better and prettier than me in the industry. I decided to just focus on making a career in corporate America. But I was so miserable doing that to the point where I would cry to my then boyfriend (now husband) every Sunday night dreading the thought of going back to work on Monday. At the end of 2019, I quit my job. And then the pandemic hit. I was jobless. And because we were all on lock down, I decided to tap into my passion once again and create fashion content. I was so scared to put myself out there once again but I told myself that I had nothing to lose. My husband and sisters also gave me lots of pep talk to get back on it. The fear was great but I guess the passion was greater. So, I started by posting one Tiktok video on what to wear on a date night. The following day, I woke up to a crazy amount of notification about my video. I was so overwhelmed by the love that my content was getting. I kept creating content and posting it. Before I knew it, I was invited by Tiktok to join their creator program, I was featured on a buzzFeed segment, I started to land deals with big fashion brands, and most importantly, I saw women from across the world tagging me in videos or comments to let me know how inspiring my videos were to them. I was finally getting to make women feel good about themselves through my fashion content. This is what keeps me going even now when I get a few bumps on the road and feel like giving up. I try to remind myself that there’s a reason why God has made me creative with my fashion sense and has expanded my platform – to break down low self esteem and help women feel good as they teach them how to look good. And I am so thankful that I enjoy doing it as well!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Okay I am such a foodie so we’ll definitely be checking out a lot of restaurants. Because I love to dress up, it will have to be a restaurant that’s aesthetically pleasing as well for great instagrammable moments with my best friend. Few restaurants that fit that vibe are Rh rooftop, Beehive restaurant lounge, Catbird, or Harper’s. We will definitely have a shopping day – duh! I will take her to the North Park mall located in uptown Dallas which features some of my all time favorite brands. because after all, we need to make sure we have the right fashionable items to create content together! Plus that mall has a lot of artsy areas that would be cool to check out too. I will also take her for a spa day at the Spa Castle in Carrollton. That place is where you want to be to let all the stress out. Right after the spa, we’re getting our nails done at Rose couture nail bar in Dallas as they have the best nail design techs in the area. On the weekend, we will go to bishop arts and get some drinks and tapas at the Casablanca bar. I cannot have her leave without visiting Legacy West in Plano for shopping and more great food options.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The number one person who deserves all the credit for where I am today is Jesus Christ. If it was not for God who gifted me with this fashion talent and the strength to put myself out there, I would not have known any of the success that I have witnessed so far in my fashion influencer career. Second to that is my amazing support system – My husband and my siblings. They say that behind every influencer is an unpaid manager/photographer who happens to be the influencer’s husband. And I can certainly confirm this statement as my husband is behind the scenes of every work that I have ever put out there. I cannot thank him enough. My sisters deserve so much credit as well – if no one is letting the algorithm know that they like my content, I know that I can always count on my sisters to support and engage with all my content and drive the algorithm in my favor. During my humble beginnings when I had no photographer or equipment, my husband and my sisters would make up my production team. From standing on their feet for hours helping me take photos and shoot videos in the heat or the cold of Dallas to spending time with me when I am down and out. They keep on encouraging me not to give up.
