We had the good fortune of connecting with Ginnie Donald and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ginnie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I decided to start my own business because of my desire for serving people and the community. I chose food as it the one thing the unites people from all walks of life, it is the one thing that makes us all happy. I began cooking very early age. My grandmother ensured that I was in the kitchen helping to prepare our family meals daily. After being in the food industry for most of my life, it only made since to start my own food business, giving me the creative control to really tantalize my customers tastes buds. I really enjoy seeing the looks on my customers faces after they’ve tried our food. It is the look of pure satisfaction.

What should our readers know about your business?
Country City Grille is a family owned mobile food establishment serving deliciously prepared dishes made to order that are derived from my grandmothers family recipes. We are most proud of being able to share a little of our history with our customers and the community. We do this by providing a delicious, quality dish in hopes that it brings you running back to our kitchen at Country City Grille as we did my grandmothers kitchen. I would be remiss if I did not state how terrifying this journey has been. I left the security a fortune 100 company to strike out on my own and it has not been easy however my previous experiences has definitely helped along the way. Through this journey I have learned that fear and pride are devastating to any dream and has no place in the hearts and minds of anyone looking to start their entrepreneurial journey. Country City Grille is proud to be operating in the DFW area and will continue to serve and meet the prepared food needs of or customers.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite spots is Joe T. Garcia’s. I really enjoy the food, décor, and atmosphere there. Stockyards is a fun place to hangout, eat and drink. Barcadia for sure. Deep Ellum for a little live entertainment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to to the company and the individuals who were a positive and motivating force to me for almost 20 years. I wont name anyone but they know who they are I was able to garner the knowledge and skills needed to make my dreams of business ownership possible. I’d also like to shoutout my grandfather. I told him my idea and he simply said ” I will support you 100%”.
