We had the good fortune of connecting with Garron Weeks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Garron, how do you think about risk?
Choosing a media creation career in the mid-2010s was considered unconventional at the time. However, movies and television had a huge impact on me during my formative years, which fueled my desire to create. Despite numerous challenges and moments of self-doubt, I persevered. By the grace of God, I eventually achieved some success in sports, music, and cars. By daring to take risks instead of opting for a safe route, I had the privilege of driving and filming some of the world’s most coveted sports cars. Additionally, I spent an entire season court side with the Dallas Mavericks, and had the honor of meeting influential musicians & athletes and created content for them.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When I started on my journey in 2014, I recognized the significance of creating media and capturing stories. My business revolves around narrating the stories of individuals and companies. I craft content that amplifies voices and helps businesses grow, reaching more customers in an elegant and sophisticated manner. Having been in the content creation industry for nearly a decade, I’ve experienced numerous highs and lows. I’ve overcome challenges by embracing my purpose, continuously improving, and trusting the process. What I want the world to know about my story is that discovering your passion and working within it is both rewarding and fulfilling.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I was to take someone on a tour of Dallas, I’d get coffee by White Rock Lake and take a nice walk, visit the Dallas Farmers Market for Lunch, go to the Dallas Museum of Art, go to a Mavs game, and then get drinks with a nice view of the skyline on a rooftop bar. Dallas is a beautiful city and I love living here.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Growing up with both my parents in marketing fields, I gained a deep appreciation for the critical role that effective marketing plays in any business. Their guidance and encouragement propelled me to where I am today. My late grandfather, Wayne Weeks, transitioned from humble beginnings to become a successful civil engineer. His legacy includes designing numerous bridges, dams, and homesteads that will endure for generations in our community. Inspired by his example, I aim to make a similar digital impact for my own community. He was a co-founder of Velvin & Weeks Consulting Engineers, Inc. My boss and business partner, Hebron Sher, serves as a constant source of inspiration. As a successful entrepreneur who owns multiple restaurants and businesses, he challenges me to think bigger every day, pushing me toward more innovative and strategic thinking.
