We had the good fortune of connecting with G.Stylez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi G.Stylez, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel like taking risks are a big part of anyone’s life and most importantly when it is something you are passionate about. I have taken risks all of my life with putting myself out there, whether its life changing or a career change. The biggest risk I have taken so far is investing in my music and my craft to better me as an artist/entertainer and I would say its definitely paying off. It’s a great feeling when people start to recognize who you really are and what you are capable of being and that’s why I take risks whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What separates me from others is my drive and passion for this. Throughout the years I have gained so much experience, not just in music but in acting, modeling, dancing, commercials, performing for big name artists, being on billboards, the radio, movies, etc. I have had my hand in just about everything and I make sure I do my best because I have an image to uphold and this alone separates me from others.
I am the most excited about releasing my first EP, hopefully this summer. This project has summertime written all over it and I am ready to let the world hear it. This was not an easy route, I have spent years of progress, patience, and sometimes wanting to give up but I kept pushing because of the people I had behind me motivating me everyday.
One of the most important lessons I learned along the way is to invest in yourself, I don’t care what career path you are taking or what you want to do in life; INVEST IN YOURSELF. If you don’t invest in yourself, then how do you expect anyone else to invest in you. You have to get to a point where people are looking for what’s coming next for you, this is when you know you are on that right path.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely like to give a shoutout to my friends and family, they motivate me in every way and keep me pushing along this journey in my life. The belief they have in me and the passion I have for this fuels me everyday. I also would like to shoutout all of the other amazing artists I have come across on this path, each one of you have taught me something I can better myself as well as my art with, by seeing the different styles and thoughts and experiences each of you have been through. Shoutout to my producer bringing my sound to life and the magician with the camera who brings my art to life. I can’t leave without personally shouting out my mother; I do all of this for her.
