Meet Finley Daniel | Actress, Singer/Songwriter, Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Finley Daniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Finley, why did you pursue a creative career?
As a kid I loved watching movies and being captivated by my imagination. This lead to voice, piano, and guitar lessons. I then started participating in theater camps. I was bullied throughout almost all my schooling and I started to find refuge and safety in performing. Being completely consumed in another world or character creates happiness in my soul I have a deep passion for creating and living out stories. Serving others through the talents I have been given. I become the most in sync with the Great Creator when I am on the stage or in front of the camera. It is my calling. So, naturally, it became my career.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Besides being an actress and singer, I make comical skits online through Instagram and TikTok. I really enjoy making people laugh because for one, it gives me joy! I like to be the character, the vessel, that gives people the opportunity to escape from their reality. I love comparing entertainment to being vessels: being a vessel to help someone heal from their hurt, experience sadness, or let go of their anger. Since we are called to serve others, my job is to tell people’s testimonies through my story telling – a vessel. Let’s be real, you can do this in any profession; I just found that my best serving is through entertainment.
When thinking about my goals, I wouldn’t say I am where I would like to be professionally. I am always working hard and striving to be better! As my mom always says, “Anything worth having takes hard work!” Thanks mom 😉 It isn’t easy. I think there are challenges everyday & you have to take it one day at a time. One of the many lessons I have learned is you can’t be scared to take risks. You have to be courageous. I always use the analogy of hitting a brick wall: it might hurt and be painful, but you have to be willing to run straight into a brick wall and be okay with the unknown. As the famous actress, Bette Davis said, “Not Guts, No Glory” I try to live by that same motto.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to Ascension Coffee for a breakfast/brunch option and for a great caffeinated drink. Of course, we would have to visit the Dallas Museum of Art and/or the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, depending on the weather. For shopping North Park Mall.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
You can’t achieve your dreams with out a group of people that believe in you and aren’t afraid to push you to become the best version of yourself. I want to thank my family, mentors, acting and singing coaches, and my friends for constantly cheering me on even when I didn’t feel worthy of being cheered on. I would not be where I am or who I am without them. I am very blessed to have a strong support system and I have God to thank for that.
