We had the good fortune of connecting with Fayez Nowar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fayez, what makes you happy? Why?
There are many different things that make me happy in life- family, friends, and being able to have the opportunity to start this food blog where I am able to support and promote local businesses. Ever since starting my food blog, I have been given many opportunities to help out places that need support, and through my platform, I am grateful to be able to do it. Especially nowadays in. a world with so much negativity, I just want everyone to come together and appreciate the amazing restaurants and food options we have here in the DFW metroplex. Food is truly what brings people together.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently a full-time student at the University of North Texas (UNT) studying Spanish and Biology with hopes of becoming a Physician Assistant. I have always enjoyed caring for others as well as supporting others. I thoroughly enjoy learning so much about Biology and being able to converse with others in different languages. The Spanish degree is what influenced me to start writing my posts in both English and Spanish because I want to have my posts accessible to all individuals who speak different languages. Spanish is such an important language nowadays due to the fact that there are many Spanish-speaking individuals here in the DFW area, and I surely want them to enjoy the same food I am enjoying with the translations. I am currently a Medical Assistant for a Hand and Wrist Surgeon here in Frisco, TX (Dr.Dina Rahhal), where I learn so much from my co-workers (Debbie and Carolina) as well as Dr.Rahhal in preparation for PA school. Having this opportunity has made me learn so much about a possible field I would like to enter and has also made me appreciate the work of many Medical Assistants, Physicians, and Office Managers.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Where do I even start? There are so many options to choose from especially in Dallas, Plano, McKinney, and even Frisco! If my friends were visiting from out of time I would definitely take them to the different food trucks situated at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas, take them to the DMA, the Perot Museum, The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, and the Fort Worth Zoo. There are so many restaurants here in the DFW area, but if I had to choose my top five they would have to be Cuban Dulceria in Carrolton, TX, Carte Blanche in Dallas, TX, Espumoso Cafe in Dallas, TX, EB Latinbistro in Plano,TX, and lastly Noodle Wave in Frisco, TX. Everyone has to go to the Reunion Tower and see the view at night!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Family is always a huge aspect for me especially since they have always been there for me since the beginning. My parents especially are the ones that always support my life choices as well as the decisions I make. Without my parents, I truly do not know where I would be because of the significant impact they have had on my life as a whole. My friends are constantly supporting me and always there for me through thick and thin (you know who you are), and having the support of my friends motivates me to do whatever I want to do in the world. My sister is an important individual that always has been there for me, and always gives me advice whenever I need it. As one is able to see, so many influences in one’s life can lead to many successes.
