We had the good fortune of connecting with Faith Sycaoyao and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Faith, what do you want your legacy to be?
I aspire for my legacy to be a straightforward yet impactful force, creating a global change that holds deep significance for generations to come. Time is transient, and thus, I hope to be remembered as one who not only demonstrated but also inspired others to recognize the potential and beauty of art as a catalyst for societal transformation, driving innovative outcomes in our era.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is an amalgamation of hybrid work. In terms of charity movements, I also develop graphics for Climate Cardinals, donate artworks to a program in Seattle, produce art that advocates for environmental concerns, and create pieces that could offer comfort to pediatric patients. Currently, what I love most about my line of work is the positive impact it has on others. I love it when individuals I desire to help bring a heartfelt smile in exchange for my initiatives; it’s a reassuring and comforting act in my opinion that makes me tremendously delighted in response. Hence, I hope others are also able to recognize the goodness that helping others brings and how the quality of character and expression may transform the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Presently, the most captivating destinations I’ve explored in DFW are situated downtown. Their charm is truly enchanting, especially as dusk falls and the city comes alive with a captivating array of lights, lush parks, and delectable culinary offerings. Among the highlights I suggest are Dallas Arts District and Dallas Museum of Art, ideal for art enthusiasts keen on paintings and sculptures, showcasing a diverse range of European, American, Islamic, and Asian art. The Reunion Tower also offers a spectacular panoramic view of the city, along with a scenic drive across the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes! I would like to express my gratitude to the Curators, Founders, and Executive Directors of the various organizations and galleries I’ve collaborated with, spanning from London, Barcelona, to Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Their unwavering support has been invaluable, and I am deeply thankful for the opportunities they’ve provided, serving as stepping stones in my journey. My very first exhibition and catalogue book were at Boomer Gallery in London when I was 18, an experience for which I am particularly grateful. Additionally, being published in a Collectors’ Book at Al-Tiba9 Contemporary Art in Barcelona was an unexpected and profound opportunity to showcase my work in the international art scene of Europe. Lastly, the chance to create my first mural in Massachusetts, courtesy of HCA and the 26.2 Foundation for their centennial celebration as the starting line of the 2024 Boston Marathon, holds special significance. Above all, I am grateful to God for His guidance and the abundant blessings He has bestowed upon me, demonstrating that beauty can emerge from every struggle!
