We had the good fortune of connecting with Exhale Event Productions Jonathan & Anthony and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Exhale Event Productions, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We started off as friends at church. We both actually served on the media team. At one point I (Jonathan) was the lead technician who handled all of the computers, lights, audio, and on-screen presentations, and Anthony was the producer who ensured a smooth production with everything happening at the right time. In 2021 we decided to join forces and bring our production skills to the market. Our goal was to produce special events that maximize positive, long-lasting impressions on all individuals while minimizing headaches and hassles involved with executing special productions.

What should our readers know about your business?
What distinguishes Exhale Event Productions is that it caters to a diverse audience and takes the headache out of the entertainment aspect of any event. Our clients feel relaxed and relieved knowing that we have them covered professionally. Most other DJ’s only provide music. We are able to provide an entire experience which includes high quality music, audience engagement, and special effects such as colorful uplighting, dance floor lights, low lying fog, cold sparks, personalized monograms, and photo booths to give the audience a truly memorable experience. In other words, we truly bring the WOW Factor to our client’s events.

In order to accomplish this, we made a challenging decision. For the first year of business, we decided not to take any profits for ourselves, deciding to dedicate all of our proceeds to the business. Although this was challenging, the results of the sacrifice have been well worth it. We were able to invest our prior experiences with production, time, money, and efforts into the business so that we could capitalize on our passion sooner rather than later.

During this continual process of business growth, we have realized that there is always something new to learn. We have spent countless hours honing our craft as DJs, researching the best equipment to purchase, experimenting with advertising and promotion strategies, and networking with other vendors. In short, our goal is to continue to grow.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of the coolest parts of having a production company is that we get to work with many different venues in different areas. We performed at Te Deseo, an upscale Latin bar and restaurant in downtown Dallas, as well as the Sinclair Hotel in Fort Worth, featuring a beautiful 20th story roof-top lounge with incredible views. Places like these are perfect for setting the right environment for celebrations.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly, each of our wives have played a key role in supporting our efforts as we continue to build up the Exhale Event Productions brand. They are the backbone of the business. Dejoria, Anthony’s wife, came up with the company name, logo design, and the various wedding packages. Calundra, Jonathan’s wife, has been the mastermind behind our social media and manages our accounts. Due to the time-consuming nature of the entertainment industry, most events are held on weekends. Despite that, our wives sacrificed and encouraged us to continue to follow our passion. They are the MVP’s of Exhale Event Productions.
