We had the good fortune of connecting with Evelyn Lavon Smoot and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Evelyn Lavon, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote/affirmation : NEVER GIVE UP HAVE FAITH. It means a lot cause society will having you second guessing yourself when it comes to your passion. You feel as if you are doing everything wrong or not doing enough . How can someone in the same field as me become successful in such a short amount of time when it’s taken you months or even years to meet certain goals for your brand. Don’t ever let social media or society dictate your journey. Everyone could be doing the same thing but they have there own lane. It’s all about you being unique and putting your own twist to it. Move to the own beat of your drum stay consistent have that faith and never give up on what you love. Success is what you make it just keep pushing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Currently I’m a Collateral Exception Specialist for Bank of America. Which can be pretty hectic trying to maintain a full time job and business. I often get asked how do you manage to work full time, be an entrepreneur and attempt to have any social life in the process. It’s all about balance, time management and definitely sacrifice. Somedays are harder than others you get tired and want to give up but you have to stay on task. Always think about the bigger picture at the end of the day and why you are doing what you love. I’ve learned to turn my pain into my passion and know nothing comes easy just have faith.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
