We had the good fortune of connecting with Eva Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eva, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I worked with several small businesses and non-profits and they would always tell me they would pay me if I had an official business. That’s when I began the work to establish On Brand Strategic Solutions as an official business.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
On Brand Strategic Solutions offers leadership development, strategic development, grant training, and grant writing services. I am passionate about creating innovative, transformative, performance-driven, yet practical solutions for my clients.

My services accommodate novice and experienced professionals: Leadership Development: identify and map out opportunities for individuals to expand their capacity and strengthen performance. Strategic Development: research, identify, and map out strategic options for you or your organization. Grant Training (Writing + Management): best practices to develop strong proposals as well as grant management skills to implement after award. Proposal Writing Services: development of proposals for funding opportunities

I have more than 10 years of grant writing, grant management, strategic and leadership development experience. I believe my clients deserve the best which is why it is important for them to receive exemplary service. I offer in-person and virtual training. Right now, I am focused on providing services to small businesses and non-profits. In this industry, it can be difficult for clients to obtain resources from larger grantors if they don’t have the proper support in place.

It was not easy to get where I am today. Before I established On Brand, I operated more like a volunteer. When I became an official business, there were several areas that I had to brush up on when it came to business acumen. Some of the areas were developing brand awareness, business financials, and time management.

Along this journey, I’ve learned that everyone is not your customer and that ok.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This would vary depending on the time of the year. We’d have to go to the arts district in Fort Worth to visit the museums then dine and shop at The Shops at Clearfork (Fixe, Press Cafe, Grimaldi’s, Mesero, Crú, you name it!) or Magnolia street (I love Spice and Lili’s Bistro). We’d have to see if there is a show or event at Dickies arena, ride TEXRail to Grapevine to visit the area. We’d take part in a walking tour in the Bishop Arts district. State Fair and a TCU football game (Go Frogs!!) would be on the list if both were in season.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! My parents deserve this shoutout. They have always supported my aspirations and encouraged me to “go for it”, even when I tried to talk myself out of it. They have been instrumental in providing the foundation and framework in which I operate in my personal and professional life.

My tribe (friend group) has encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and do things I’m not accustomed to. They provide a supplemental layer of support, guidance, sponsorship, and encouragement. Nothing like having people that aren’t afraid to share your name in a room rich with opportunity.
