We had the good fortune of connecting with Eugene Han and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eugene, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Orthodontics is a deeply rewarding field. We’re fortunate to spend extended time with our patients—often over the course of a year or more. While watching their smiles transform is incredible, what’s even more meaningful is the opportunity to build lasting relationships and witness their personal growth along the way.

That sense of connection and purpose was a big part of what inspired us to start Beyond Braces.

At Beyond Braces, our mission is simple: to provide high-quality orthodontic care with sincerity and integrity to everyone who walks through our doors.

We don’t believe that everyone needs orthodontic treatment. For many, it’s a personal choice—and that’s completely valid. Orthodontics can offer real benefits, both functional and aesthetic, but we never pressure anyone into treatment. Our focus is on honest, respectful communication. We provide a clear diagnosis and walk our patients through their options so they can make informed decisions that are right for them or their families.

Our core values shape everything we do:
Clinical excellence. Integrity. Hard work. Teamwork. Joy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was part of the accelerated dental program at the University of the Pacific and graduated from dental school at the age of 23. From there, I joined the U.S. Army Dental Corps to serve the nation as a dentist. My time in the Army was an incredible experience—both professionally and personally. It shaped my values, taught me discipline, and helped me grow into the orthodontist I am today.

While serving, I discovered that my true passion lies in orthodontics rather than general dentistry. After completing my military service, I pursued my specialty training at the University of Southern California, where I had the privilege of learning from some truly amazing mentors. Their guidance and wisdom not only deepened my clinical knowledge but also helped refine my approach to patient care.

I’m not here to claim I’m the best orthodontist in the world. What I can say with confidence is that I genuinely care for each and every patient I treat. My clinical decisions are always made with their well-being in mind. I want people to know that Beyond Braces isn’t just another orthodontic office—it’s a place where patients are truly seen, heard, and cared for.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I know one thing for certain – we are eating Texas BBQ all week long. Shoutout to my favorites – Terry Black’s, Cattleack, Pecan Lodge, Heim. We will be mostly home however – playing board games and having a drink or two!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people who deserve a shoutout for helping me get to where I am today.

First and foremost, my family — their unwavering support has been my foundation. No matter the challenge, they’ve always stood by me, offering encouragement and love that keeps me going.

I’m also incredibly grateful for my friends, who have been my sounding boards, cheerleaders, and steady companions through every high and low. Their presence reminds me that success is sweeter when shared.

To my mentors: thank you for your guidance, both clinically and ethically. Your wisdom has shaped not only how I practice but also how I lead, and I carry your lessons with me every day.

I also want to recognize my incredible team at Beyond Braces. Each person embodies our core values and shares in the philosophy that drives our practice. Their dedication, teamwork, and positive energy make our office a place where both patients and staff feel supported and valued.

Lastly, a nod to David Goggins. His emphasis on mental toughness and pushing beyond perceived limits has been a personal inspiration, reminding me that we’re often capable of more than we think.

To all of you — thank you!
