We had the good fortune of connecting with Estephanie Miranda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Estephanie, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Such a cliche response I am about give, but If I don’t put my hands and creativity to work, I end up in such a depressed state of mind. I love that in the beauty industry you can learn something everyday, and you can truly put your technique and creativity to use! Not to mention leaving a client in love with it self all over again is such a proud feeling!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Starting out, 7 years ago, I would have never imagined that the different type of makeup applications are endless. I knew I wanted to make people feel beautiful but everyone has their own interpretation of beauty. My portfolio from when I first started was all GLAM! I mean gold glitter on everyone, smoooookey, bright lipstick, big lashes, thinking back it makes me cringe a lot. It took a lot of criticism from my clients and higher up artist that everyone is different, and sometimes less is more. Taking a private lesson with a celebrity MUA, to becaming a MAC artist has truly helped me expand my portfolio. As my portfolio grew so did my clientele. I started dipping into different skin tones and skin types, different ethnicities and cultures, and over all a different kinda of glam. Proud to say that I have been able to call myself a very versatile artist.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Okay no doubt in mind, Klyde Warren Park. I love it there, I am such a foodie so it is very convenient to have the different types of food trucks parked outside. Love seeing the kids play and the random activities at the park. It’s such a positive and happy environment every time I go, it is contagious.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My list of shout outs are endless but my family and clients really deserve all the praise! Although I am the one that is behind the brush, my family were always on top of me making sure to never give up. For example, when I first started my career I was doing makeup applications as low as $25. Back then my husband and I were down to only one car and I didn’t know how to drive. No matter how far and how long I was doing makeup on a Saturday, my husband would drive miles and stay for long hours outside until I was done. My parents helped me with taking care of my children while my husband and I were at my crazy makeup gigs. My clients also play a huge part on my makeup and hair journey. They see something in me that I sometimes don’t see in my self, I’ve been so lucky that my clientele trust the process and understand that I can only get better. I truly appreciate their honesty, recommendations, and their loyalty.
