We had the good fortune of connecting with Ericka Alvarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ericka, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I am a wife and mother of 2 boys and as they are growing up I realized that work is important but being part of their day to day life was much more important. The balance is never easy however making my family a priority is not hard in general. I do my best to maintain a daily schedule when I end work and do not pick it back up until after they have gone to bed or the next morning before they wake up.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the Broker and owner of Vibrant Real Estate. We are a local real estate Brokerage that is licensed in the state of Texas and works locally in the DFW and surrounding area. We are a independent brokerage so we are not affiliated with a franchise such as a C21 or Keller Williams. The DFW area is competitive for the real estate market but I while I understood this I also knew that as a Broker I had a lot to offer to support a Realtor to gain success in real estate. And I know the level of customer service that it takes to be successful in the industry.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dallas and Fort Worth have some of the most versatile food offerings in the US. Pappa Bro Steak House, Mesero, Kenny’s Italian Kitchen, Dee Lincolns, Del Frisco Double Eagle Steak house, Urban Crust Pizza, True Food Kitchen and Kocktails I would recommend to visit the Ft Worth Zoo, Kimble Art Museum, Fort Worth Stock Yards and explore the shops near the the stock yards in Ft Worth. And of course Six Flags in Arlington. The Dallas Cowboys practice area in Frisco TX and visit the shops and bars for cocktails. Historic Downtown Plano you can walk to bars and shops and catch the DART rail to explore DFW.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to thank Carissa Acker at KW for really pushing me to become a Realtor all those years ago. Becky Anderson for her nurturing spirit. And Logan Waller of Waller Group for really shaping me into who I am today. He supported me in embracing prospecting and a mindset of growth. Jp Piccinini of JPAR for encourage me to brand ME. If I had not had the input and support of ALL these amazing professionals I would not be where I am today.
