We had the good fortune of connecting with Epifanio Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Epifanio, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The things I try to do as an artist and tattooist are staying true to myself and realize not everyone will like or love what I put out. I feel that’s brings success to my brand EPIPENINK

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an artist and tattooist. I came down this road because unbeknownst to me as a kid I needed an outlet to express myself since we live in a world of boys don’t cry or show emotion because if they do their weak. I am where I am with my art and profession because perseverance and understanding that you can’t be liked by everyone.

The question of was it easy is a matter of perspective because what was hard for me was cake for others and vise versa.

I want people to know to just stay true to yourself. Everything else will fall into place sooner or later.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First we have a drink at Panther City Brewing and hang/chat with my friend Joe Moron, then off to The Great Outdoors for some great sandwiches. Check out the modern art museum since it’s across the way. Once that’s done we’ll prob be hungry again and get some sushi at Sushi Axiom. And probably finish the night in Downtown or a pub off Camp Bowie.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife Megan Lopez and my kids. @visceralmoonhealing @meganlopezmakeup  There were and are friends and people along the way that did help mold me but I feel these are the biggest influences that keep me grounded and focused.
