Meet Emily Daniel | Pastry Chef

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Daniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Both of my parents are very creative and driven people. My mother is a nail art tech, my father was an artist and art curator. Because of them, I have always gravitated to more creative jobs. They have always pushed me to follow my heart and passions. So when I eventually started baking something just clicked and I never looked back! for me, there is always something new to learn in the pastry industry. I am constantly being challenged in new ways while also being able to express myself and what I love to do!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
if you can think it we can bake it! Stacked Cake and Confection Co was established in February 2022. we are a cottage bakery based in Keller, TX . we specialize in cakes although we do everything! the owner Emily Daniel-Deweese went to pastry school at el Centro college in Dallas while also working at the Gaylord Texan for three years in both the pastry and culinary departments. after graduating with her associate’s in pastry arts with a certificate in culinary arts, she moved on to Eataly, Dallas in their pastry department. one year later emily quit her corporate pastry job and started her own business full time. she has had lots of long nights of no sleep working in the kitchen till all hours of the night, and waking up early the next day to go right back to the same thing. we love helping people create memories through cake and confections. everything that we make is made from scratch for the best flavor and decorated elegantly for every occasion.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Any time I have friends in town we always go to deep elum! we always go eat at rodeo goat for dinner and dessert is chill 360 for ice cream. after that, I like to stroll the streets to look at all the art on the buildings. for breakfast, carte blanche has the best breakfast pastries in town! Then on to the best interactive art installment in Dallas sweet tooth hotel for lots of jiggles and pictures! For a late lunch we take the scooters to taqueria la Ventana for tacos and margaritas.
To end the night I would see who is playing at trees or house of blues!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To my Mother, Father, Sister, and Husband thank you for always encouraging my goals and passions in life. The love, hope, help, and encouragement have made me the woman that I am today!
