Meet Emilia Alza | DivaDance Plano Manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emilia Alza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emilia, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our success at DivaDance Plano is our commitment to blending cardio, community, and dance into one empowering experience. DivaDance Plano provides a welcoming space where women of all shapes and sizes can come together, be themselves, and connect through the universal language of dance. It’s about building confidence, fostering community, and celebrating each individual in a supportive, uplifting environment.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my career in the nonprofit sector, driven by a passion for giving back and using my talents to make an impact. Working in that environment taught me to wear many hats and adapt quickly, which has been invaluable throughout my journey. I later transitioned into the corporate world, specifically the construction industry, where my skills were further refined. It was there that I learned a fundamental lesson: no one owes you anything, especially in business—you have to earn every opportunity.

With an MBA under my belt, I’ve come to believe that anything is possible with discipline, initiative, and a commitment to always give my best. Challenges don’t intimidate me; I welcome them as opportunities to grow. I’m proud of the resilience and adaptability I’ve developed along the way, and I’m excited to bring that energy to every project I take on. For me and my brand, it’s all about creating meaningful experiences, building strong communities, and inspiring others to find confidence and joy in what they do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d make sure they experienced the best of the area! We’d start by diving into some amazing Korean food, Ari Korean BBQ is my absolute favorite. I go so often, I always get VIP treatment. Then, we’d head to downtown Fort Worth to soak up the local sights and culture. A wine tasting at 55 Seventy would definitely be on the list for a little relaxation and great conversation. And of course, we’d dedicate plenty of time to shopping—it’s the perfect way to cap off each day!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to all the incredible women who show up to class every day. They’re the heart and soul of DivaDance Plano, bringing joy, connection, and a sense of community that makes this space truly unique. Regardless of their backgrounds, stories, or challenges, they each contribute something special. They are the true heroes behind our success, and we’re so grateful for their energy and dedication.
