Meet Emanuel Asahene | Musician/DJ/Dancer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emanuel Asahene and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emanuel, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Honestly, at times I feel like I’m being guided to do this. I wouldn’t have met the people I have over the years or had some of the opportunities and information present itself in the manner it has if I wasn’t on the right path. I didn’t start the journey with the expectation that it was going to be easy or instantly gratifying. As far as I’m concerned, I’m much closer to my goal than when i started.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m excited to finally consistently share my music with the world. I’ve enjoyed and still appreciate so many different types of music that my influences vary and my mind races with different ideas and ways to fuse them together. The most difficult thing for me was consistency. A part of that is also finding the balance of creation and business. Finances play a part in everything you do and without ample finances there are sometimes halts in your creative process. Maybe not the part where you’re actually creating but more so in the part where you share it efficiently with your listeners. I am still overcoming challenges on a daily basis. Internal and external challenges alike. Even though this journey has been a long one, i still don’t consider myself to have reached even the quarter way checkpoint. It’s never easy, but being present in mind for what I truly want to accomplish has brought me this far. Your body and actions follow your mind so wherever your mind is most active is where you’re destined to go. I’m looking forward to the upcoming challenges I will face. It’s hard for me to speak on others and their process or what they are doing but if i were to guess what sets me apart, I would say an open mindedness and willingness to ALWAYS LEARN. In my opinion, once you stop learning, you stop living. I’d like the world to know that it’s imperative to take a look within and know exactly what it is you want, and where you’re going. Recognize that there is not only always more to do but that you live in a world of opportunity. My brand would not exist without these realizations and my story wouldn’t be worthy of being told to anyone if i stopped writing it. Write it every day with your actions and mindset. Mine will continue to grow and so should yours!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Aldeez Afroribbean (African/Carribean) would be a regular eating destination all week! They have to be my favorite restaurant in Dallas. They also are a venue for live music. Ive only been once but I’ve heard fantastic things about House of Blues so i’d definitely be checking to see what shows they would be hosting that week. For any lady friends visiting i would suggest they stopped by Labare Ladies club on Northwest Highway so they can find some quality Male entertainment to pass the time. I myself am also an entertainer so the nightlife for me is very limited but i have many many friends i would more than likely ask first.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Dimitri Henry, also known as musical artist Troy Cakeman. has been a constant source of information that has helped me avoid many of the unexpected pitfalls of the Music industry. He’s served as a friend and Mentor in many ways and for that I’m grateful!
