We had the good fortune of connecting with Elliott Threatt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elliott, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
My background as a professional stand up comedian for 30 years has taught me how important connections with real people are on a personal level. Early in life I learned I could get a smile with great dog joke. Now I get the same outcome a great smile with with Cinnamon roll and declivous cup of coffee
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an Emmy winning Grammy nominated artist. I was also the runner up behind Ellen DeGeneres in SHOWTIME’s Funniest American Competition. Most recently I have appeared in NBC’s Last Comic Standing and BET’s Comic View. Currently, I am busy hosting “Elliott Threatt’s The Last Show”. On the other side, I am a multi-faceted business owner. I am involved in businesses in many different airports but locally, I am an owner of the 2 Whisk & Bowl locations at DFW Airport. Not only am I an owner, but I get totally involved in the bakery, down to my favorite aspect; baking the chocolate chip cookies. Outside of my family, what I am probably most proud of is a new partnership program between Green Beans Coffee, myself and Veterans Community Project. VCP is creating Veterans Village – a Kansas City community of transitional tiny-homes and onsite services. Green Beans Coffee is proud to supply Veterans Village with coffee! Learn more about me at my artist website www.elliottthreatt.com or my youtube channel and just google my name.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First I would meet them at DFW Airport grab a large cup of Green Beans Coffee from Whisk Bowl because I have big day planned. Then off to the Rudy’s Chicken on Lancaster Road for 4 wings and Red beans and rice then of to the African American museum of Dallas to check out the art exabits. Then off to Dude Sweet Chocolate for a couple of Bam Bam bars and finish the night at Hyena’s Comedy club when where I’ll do a guest set.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Kim Wolper Seyler is the area manager for Whisk and Bowl she wonderful mom and owner of 3 dogs. Every I get nervous about some new we are rolling out in the menu I hear her say 3 words and I know we will ok “WE GOT THIS”
