Meet Elizabeth Davis | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elizabeth, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always loved music, art, taking portraits and anything creative. This was the perfect outlet for me to combine a lot of those interests and passions. Photography provides me the ability to allow people to see themselves from a different perspective. It’s inspiring and always changing. I am constantly learning new things and feel like the limit of this knowledge is endless, I can always learn more.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love bold and true to color portraits. I also love creating outside the box and trying new things. I believe that is why my clients choose me when getting their portraits or referring photographers. I approach each session with excitement and an open mind. I love capturing raw emotion along with posed expression. It’s a constant challenge to pose and I love learning new ways to help couples embrace each other as well as families cuddling up for a sweet moment. Often, these are lasting memories that go along with their portraits and I always want to make sure I keep that in mind when snapping that photo.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I were to show a friend my favorite spots in the area I would absolutely start in Mansfield at Elmer Oliver Nature Park. It is huge and has so many options for portraits. The trails provide a vast landscape for when the Texas sky shows up for pictures too.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mentor, Kendrick Terrell (Kendrick Terrell Photography & Design) has helped me grow tremendously. His encouragement, knowledge and constant kindness has brought me where I am now. He is amazing at everything he does and I will forever be grateful for him taking a chance on me and my little Nikon D90.
