We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elizabeth, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One of the things about working in social media marketing, and running a social media marketing firm, that outsiders might be unaware of is how much time it takes – creating high quality content, original copy, scheduling posts across multiple platforms, maintaining commerce websites with updated launches and specials, keeping each company’s consumers up-to-date with newsletters, and regularly meeting with new and established clients.
Please tell us more about your work. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
One of the most prevalent issues I encounter in running a freelance social media marketing firm is the difficulty to work with larger businesses as they won’t hire anyone outside of their corporate office. Even when their corporate marketing firm doesn’t supply their business with the highest level of engagement possible. This is a real issue for many small businesses.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honesty, building Social Butterfly Management has very much been a self-motivated, self-driven, and self-designed business. As a business owner, I guarantee personalized attention to each client because I understand what it’s like to run a business and I appreciate their trust in me to assist them in their company’s endeavors.
