We had the good fortune of connecting with Elaine Hedary and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elaine, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I’d definitely say I’m a risk taker! Though it has to be profitable or a situation to grow, and I’m going to work hard to make sure it is! When I decided to go to Cosmetology school about 15 years later than I originally wanted it changed my life forever, it opened a door for a whole new industry that I hadn’t experienced before. But for being risky I’ll proceed with Caution for Now! 🙂

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

For the past two years I’ve taken each opportunity to get certified in something new each year.. First year was permanent makeup with No Limits Cosmetics. I enjoyed learning with Moses Garcia he is an excellent instructor.. The next year I got certified by Bellami such a fun experience. I also grew up in an Insurance Agency so juggling insurance, hair, hair extensions, and permanent makeup and three kids can be my struggle! But I just keep reading, educating and pushing myself to go further learn more and do more.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m not a big sightseer or nature person. But I do enjoy food so of course I’d go to one of my favorite restaurants, Mezcales off Jacksboro Highway. I also enjoyed the Sugar Factory in Dallas such a fun experience and the food is amazing. Our day would include pampering and dinner wonderful Lebanese food at Byblos Mediterranean off Main Street in Fort Worth and enjoy the belly dancing show.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother has been my biggest supporter! Always teaching me to work hard and with good morals. No matter how many times I failed she stood by me to help me up and start fresh . Inspiring me to be my best and better each and every day.. Also Kathy Ortiz when I first started working with her in her salon I was fresh out of Cosmetology school , she helped me grow in the industry , always patient and taking her time to show me . She is great at teaching!
