We had the good fortune of connecting with Eduardo Treviño and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eduardo, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
First, I would like to thank “Shoutout DFW” for the invitation.

I think that the idea of giving up often comes to mind for many people, but especially business owners as they often run the risk of not being able to sustain their business, especially when starting out and they are not seeing many results.

For me the idea of giving up is non-existent. Throughout most of my life, the thing that has always driven me forward to accomplish all of my goals has been the idea of making sure my family and my future family have everything and never have to struggle in their life, especially my mom and my sister. Throughout most of my childhood, I was the only child from my mom’s side, and because I was living alone with her, I basically grew up alone and had to become the “man of the house” really quickly (not that my father wasn’t around, but he and my mom had separated when I was a baby), however, it wasn’t until I turned 13 years old that my sister was born, which at the same time, it was the moment that I felt I had found a purpose in life. I wanted to take care of her and my mom and I wanted to make sure that they always had everything and would never struggle in life.

Growing up I had toys and almost everything that a kid could ask for, but it wasn’t until I grew up that I realized how much my mom had sacrificed to buy me those toys, this made me feel guilty, but at the same time I understood why she did all of that, at the end of the day all she cared about was my happiness, and now I feel like I’m in a big debt with her.

So that is where I am today, everything that I do is for my mom and my sister, I want to be able to take care of both of them, but at the same time for my mom, I want to give her everything as she gave me everything when I was a kid, and for my sister, I want to demonstrate her that anything in life is possible.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
227 Pictures is a Global Marketing Agency that focuses on helping E-Commerce and Software businesses grow through Paid Advertising and Media.

Our motto is “Marketing businesses for decades,” because we believe in helping our clients stay in the game for many years and not just for a short period of time.

In my own opinion, what sets us apart from everyone is the way we work; we are a very results-driven agency, our priority is always our clients, and at the same time we like to think of ourselves as philosophers, just like philosophers of old, we have been studying and learning in our field for many years. This has given us a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that our clients can face.

I think one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned so far is to be ready to change. A lot of people don’t like change because they feel comfortable in the place they are, but they don’t realize that not changing is stopping them from growing, in our case we embrace change and are ready for what our industry brings to us, whatever it is, we are ready and if we aren’t, we’ll find a way to be. You know, a funny story is that 227 Pictures actually started as an independent studio that was focused on making films and commercials, but as time passed by and I started gaining a lot of marketing skills, I slowly started shifting the company into a Marketing Agency than a studio, and at the same time the reason was that the skills that I was learning from one day to another were skills that a lot of companies were missing and in need of. And with all honesty, I think that me embracing this change was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life.

The biggest thing I would like the world to know about myself and or my company is how passionate we are about what we do, we are not here just to get a paycheck; like I said earlier, our main goal and what drives us is to make sure that our clients can stay in the game for many years and not just for a short period of time. At the end of the day it makes us happier to be able to say that because we (227 Pictures and client) worked as a team, we were able to make their business stay and be competitive within their industry for many years.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think my favorite spot in the as of right now city is the little area that is in front of Olive Street where a Starbucks Reserve and Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse is at.

I hung out with a couple of friends a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely fell in love with that place, especially since everything is so close, we can walk to many places without needing a car.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are a couple of people I would like to shout out.

First and foremost of course my mother for always supporting me throughout my whole journey and giving me everything she could even through the hardest moments of her life.

Second of all, my father, for always guiding me and coaching me, even when he could’ve vanished like most fathers do after breaking up with the mother, he made sure to stick around and be there for me.

Thirdly I would also like to thank two of my college professors, my film professor, Professor Reilly, for always being honest about my work and making sure that I was growing as an artist, and not sugarcoating everything just to make me feel good about my work, and also my my business professor, professor Milner, for helping me start my business and giving me advice during school and outside school.

Lastly, I would like to shout out a guy who believed in me and gave me an opportunity that would help me grow and change my life, Taylor Knox, owner of Nutramedia.
