We had the good fortune of connecting with Ea$e and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ea$e, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
In the music industry, artists are often packaged and marketed to appeal to a wide audience. This emphasis on marketability can sometimes overshadow their authenticity. Labels and managers prioritize creating a specific image or persona that aligns with current trends, which can lead to a lack of genuine expression. ME. Ima hundred percent authentic all day er day, hundred percent home grown, never paid for a feature or promotion, never paid to perform. and never had nobody dress me. I’m the real deal. and I’ll never sign to a label unless they offer me like a million upfront that I don’t have to pay back and I need to own my catalog. gotta have a good lawyer read the contract a couple times yahknow.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Most excited about showing everybody my production. I just started making beats 6 months ago and I’ve been writing raps for a decade. My style sets me apart and it’s one thats not for me to describe.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Humbled youth studios ! they got some of the best engineers in the city.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
shout out to all my friends and all my supporters, shout out to Pat Ron, and anybody else thats been holding me down on the ride up.
