Meet Dymon Alfred | Engineer & Business Owner

As I started working out and going on my own personal health journey, I learned that I enjoyed helping others maintain the pressure of living a healthy lifestyle, and I knew I wanted to create my own brand, which is Pressure Nutrition. From that thought, Pressure Nutrition came to life and the storefront opened December 2020 in the midst of the global pandemic. Throughout the build out, I was finishing my undergrad degree at the University of North Texas and working at Apple. This was challenging to say the least because it really taught me time management, entrepreneurship 101, and all the beginning necessities of running an entire company. I watched my parents run successful businesses growing up, and from that I knew I could do the same if I ever decided to. I had to learn about LLC’s, DBA’s, business credit, even how to get commercial electricity and insurance haha. I knew I wanted to make an impact in the community and that’s what I’ve done this last year.

So many exciting things have happened within the first year of being open, such as Pressure Nutrition being voted Best Nutrition Drink Bar in 76262! It’s crazy to see how far we’ve come in the 1st year of business. We’ve made a name for ourselves in the community of Roanoke. We pride ourselves on our slogan “Come in as strangers, leave as family”, because all of our customers have become family to us from late night meals or weekend get-togethers.

Was it easy? Ha, if it was, everyone would do it. I can’t count on one hand how many times during build out I cried or even during the first year of opening. Pressure Nutrition was a shell space (basically meaning they hadn’t divided it into individual suites) so during build out I really had to learn patience, and that everything works on Gods timing. Trying to open a business during a global pandemic and my last year of undergrad probably wasn’t the greatest idea, but I did it. All the sweat, tears, and long nights paid off. It really showed me that you can do whatever you put your mind to, because the only person stopping you is yourself.

Pressure Nutrition is a health and food bar. We want to help people maintain the pressure of living a healthy lifestyle. We want you to feel like you’re at home, and family. We pride ourselves on remembering every single one of our customers’ names and what they ordered on their first visit.

Roanoke is the dining capital of Texas, with some of the best places to eat and drink. We would check out Los Molcajetes for some awesome Mexican food, and their famous Black Diamond Margarita. Downtown Roanoke is such a cute town, you can walk everywhere from getting ice cream, a pedicure, and a late lunch. Also, it’s only less than 15 minutes from Texas Motor Speedway, and there’s always an event going on there to check out. Another favorite of mine is Fish and Knife, it’s like hibachi style, and the service is always awesome and fast.

Roderick Alfred, my dad for being the GOAT. He helped me open my business without any financial obligation for myself. My mom and sisters for keeping me sane along this journey because it wasn’t an easy one.
