Meet Dre Williams | Confidence Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dre Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dre, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As a facilitator in the corporate world, I was stunned to find early on leaders lacking confidence and the soft skills needed to lead successful teams and organizations.
From high level, mid level and entry level, it was a problem that I noticed and helped many of them fix.
I wanted to start my own business that helps people become better leaders who understand what confidence is and what it is not.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started in retail 17 years ago and rose up to become one of the top facilitators in the company.
I became a facilitator in 2016 after many years of being a stocker, department manager, inventory manager.
Throughout these various roles, I learned how to follow and eventually how to lead. I worked my way up within the company and had many leaders who noticed my leadership and unique energy I brought to teams.
I am so thankful for meeting the right people at the right time that helped me grow and develop as a person and employee.
When I became a facilitator, it presented an entirely new dimension of leadership for me as I was responsible for people’s careers by the content I provided.
I learned how to become better at admin, networking, leading by example, working with others, how to build a team, and how to present difficult materials, policies, and deliver them in a down to earth way.
As my experience grew I noticed how motivated my classes were and how lots of leaders wanted to be in my classes. My classes scored the highest, was the most inspired, and always seemed to be the happiest when they left.
Many of them reach out to this day.
My brand is about operating with excellence while leading others humbly. The destination is not the goal. Developing others is.
I want to help people who feel called to leadership but doubt their leadership abilities. I felt this way for many years and I know how to help others overcome it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in the DFW Metroplex and it is amazing.
I’m taking my friends to see the Dallas Mavericks beat up on at team! I’ll then give them a tour of downtown, and then I’d take them shopping at the Galleria Mall.
As far as dining, since I’m practicing better eating habits this year, I’d take my friends to It’s So Vegan in Grand Prairie.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my late grandfather Earnest Greenlee who modeled what leadership is my entire life.
