We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Marie Webster and Kelsey Baxter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Marie/Kelsey, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a means of socialization due to covid restrictions, Safe and fun activities with friends, co-workers, as well as family. Educating others on the art of mixology and that it does not have to only be at a bar, you can achieve a great cocktail in your own home.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Kelsey (educator)- DFW born and raised. Graduated from DBU. Went on to teach at a charter school in Dallas, TX going on 8yrs. Have taught 1st, and 2nd grade. Currently support teachers with literacy curriculum.

Marie (Doctor of Physical Therapy)- Graduated PT school in 2007 and decided early on to be an entrepreneur. Started with a home based Physical Therapy company in Chicago IL , and when I moved to Dallas TX, in 2010 the company was also relocated.

2021 (post pandemic), I started investing in partnering with businesses who needed financial and logistical support. Elevated Crew Cocktails was initiated in February 2021.

We have discovered by being a mobile service, often times locating a space to provide services has been difficult, but Peerspace and having associates who have spaces has been an opportunity to network and help build other small businesses.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
New cocktail bars. We love The Botanist, Bowen House and Parliament.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Friends and Family have supported us since the initiation of Elevated Crew Cocktails. Thankful for our personal focus group who helped us work out the kinks.
