We had the good fortune of connecting with Doc STRANGE and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Doc, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
You have to keep emotions below facts. You also have to realize that results are better than being right. Always pursue tangible results in professional situations.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It takes knowledge and infrastructure to make money in the music business. It also takes a team of like minded people focused on a common goal. I have learned you need true mentorship in the entertainment business. You must have experienced insight on hand that comes from someone who cares. It makes all the difference.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are 2 sides to that coin. On one side we gotta go to Deep Ellum and catch some live music and random human behavior. We will hit The Freeman’s for Cajun cuisine and soul/funk/zydeco energy.
On the other side, let’s slide to Northpark Mall and hit various shopping delights. For refreshment, happy hour at Kona Grill.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to shout-out Byron “B-Down” Lacy. He is a friend for over 25 years, dj and producer for a lot of my music. He is also owner of the Wichita Falls Barber College. He has always had a hand in my creative pursuits and given me an honest opinion on material before it hits the public.
