We had the good fortune of connecting with DeYawna Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DeYawna, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite quote is, “Your attitude determines your altitude.” In which I interpret this as the more positive your attitude is towards things (or moments), the higher you will elevate through life. Having a positive attitude isn’t just related to being able to smile and put on a happy face. It’s also related to being able to respond positively to allow us to accept push back, constructive criticism, and dilemmas. Within any business, all entrepreneurs will have instances where they experience many push backs. However, it’s how you accept and respond to that push back that will carry you through the situation to be successful.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In 2016, Visions by Dee started out as a hobby that I became very passionate about. That passion fueled the official development of my content creating business specializing in branding, portraits, and sports photography and videography. The content I product solely derives from the artistic plan created with my clients, focusing on developing a mood board to create art with the capacity to translate one’s vision into reality. Allowing all visions created to being limitless and unique to the client.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Anytime my best friend and I are together, you can bet we are looking for a good yet chilled vibe. Starting our day with brunch and bottomless mimosa, going shopping at North Park mall, going to play bowling at Main Event, and of course ending the day with dinner at Red Claw (a seafood restaurant).
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout to my best friend Ahtia Edwards, as she has played a huge role within the success of my business. From being my biggest critic, to assisting me with creative brainstorming.
From tagging along to gigs, to being my model when I get new equipment.
From always recommending my business to someone, to personally investing in it.
All and all, I appreciate everything she does for me and my business.
