We had the good fortune of connecting with Deirde Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deirde, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work life balance initially was hard in the beginning I had no idea what I was getting myself into becoming a full time entrepreneur, I had no balance in my work life which affected the balance I had already instilled in my personal life.

Overtime I’ve managed to put myself on a “work schedule” instead of trying to beat time I learned to build a relationship with it & I now create To Do list for business just like I do for personal life which helps tremendously.

By creating list this helps me manage & prioritize things I need to get done for Aura Aesthetics in a timely manner that doesn’t affect my home life. I also cut out working/shipping on weekends to cater my time to family & live in the moment.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Aura Aesthetics initially started out as BellaAuNatural and was established in 2020, we are a skincare & wellness brand catering to healing externally and internally. Specializing in treating skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, & hormonal breakouts and more.

Our authenticity is what sets the brand apart from others, it’s important to discover what I like to call “brand identity” early on in the game instead of keeping up with trends that’ll eventually die down we like to be different with our content creating & marketing. Finding commonalities with our customers makes a difference in our success, being real life relatable which shows our customers we’re not here to assist temporarily but long-term.

Building an audience for skincare is easy when you know who your target audience is and what your brand can do for them. Although there are challenges I’ve had to overcome such as people losing interest or sales being lower than usual I always go back to the drawing board, check my analytics & plan accordingly. The key is to not get discouraged or give up.

I have learned over the years to be not only a teacher but student as well, which has gotten me further & has allowed me to be of service to my community. I am now a certified herbalist which means new things will be amplified into my brand my intention behind taking these courses were to expand my knowledge on herbs & herbal medicine so I can offer more healing services to those in need. The goal is longevity & to become a global brand, I work hard & pray even harder that the higher power continues to bless me so that way I can continue to bless others.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband keeps me going & always shares encouraging words when I’m having creators block or just in my head he’s always the one I can turn to for comfort. It’s always great having genuine support and someone who gives non- biased feedback, although at times he may say things I don’t agree with it his advise always pays off on the end. Atrion is really a light for me when mines isn’t shining as bright & for that I’m forever grateful !
