We had the good fortune of connecting with Deezil Greezil and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deezil, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It’s all about Escaping The Cubicle. I just want to own my own time and not be at the mercy of corporate America concerning my resources. A career or job is not willable to my children, but a LLC is. When it comes to any business it should be about filling a void or solving a problem. My business is about making people smile through the art of comedy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Comedy is my passion. What sets me apart from others is my authenticity and delivery. I try to change paradigms with every performance. People digest information at various levels and I have found that laughter is an amazing tool when used to inform. When one laughs it creates a permanent memory that imprints your soul. Every crowd I touch is an opportunity to make a connection which makes this world as little smaller and more cohesive..

I got to where I am today by believing in me. You can’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Everyone isn’t going to share your vision or believe that you are a star so you have to impose your will on the fans. I wasn’t getting booked so I had to start producing my own shows. It’s about adaptability and resilience. 2 years ago I decided to try an open mic. Now I am winning crowds over one night at a time.

Along the way I’ve learned that its a competition at every level. I’ve had hosts of open mics say I was trash and then turn around and steal my material .It taught me the value of my intellectual property. My ability to be creative creates a flame, and we all know that moths are attracted to light.

When it’s all said and done I want the world to recognize my ability to elevate the masses. My brand is built on fearlessness.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would invite them to an EOA Entertainment comedy show. We could dance and laugh all night while enjoying amazing drinks and food at the Harker Heights E-Center. After the show we would hit Brotherhood bar and grill for some adult atmosphere. For lodging I would use one of the Purple Door properties owned by UPC available via AirBnb in town.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give credit to the most High for blessing me and my family each and every day. I also want to give thanks to my wife Sydney who is in my corner right, wrong or indifferent. Since the day she came into my life there has been nothing but increase and abundance and for that I am eternally grateful. I want to recognize Carolyn Brown of Harker Heights, Texas for providing an amazing platform and venue for EOA Entertainment, and myself to showcase our comedic talents.
