We had the good fortune of connecting with Deepa Bowinpally and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deepa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
“When passion meets art, there’s no better synergy” This statement is a great portrayal of my love for photography. I’ve spent years focusing on my work in the maternity, newborn, and baby genre and have built my business on a client experience that my families will love. I provide them with high quality products that will transform their images from just a photo to a masterpiece. Moreover, owning my own photography business allows me to possess creative control over my work and allows me to express my artistic vision. In my photographic journey, I have obtained some amazing opportunities like meeting and collaborating with astounding photographers in the industry. I even got the chance to work as a photojournalist for a sports magazine. This new experience brought out an unknown artistic personality inside me and taught me to fall in love with my creative ideas. These small achievements gave me confidence in my work and I fell in love with my professional career. I noticed that my pictures were filled with so much beauty, grace, innocence, emotion, and joyful moments. I love nature and babies equally including their cute little moments of mischief and joy; Therefore, I’ve made up my mind to become a newborn/baby photographer. Now I can proudly say that I’m a “specialist” in bump to baby Photography.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love shooting maternity and family sessions as it brings so much joy, emotion, and liveliness to the shoot. Also, Newborn and cake smash sessions are my absolute favorites as I enjoy every single second of working with babies. I believe the old adage “A picture is worth of thousand words – Henrik Ibsen.” When I see my repeated clients with their grown-up babies, I feel as if my soul is connected with them, and I cherish their presence every single time. My photography journey has completely changed my life as it has allowed me to connect with many beautiful souls around my small, extravagant world and make me feel honored to be a part of their lifelong memories. I went through many ups and downs on this path, but with my hard work and my strong-willed family support, I was able to overcome all the hindrances that sought to stop me. I worked day and night, failed countless times, and had sleepless nights thinking of ways to improve my artistic skills before ascending to the position I’m in now. Looking back on the past few years, I am glad that I was able to convey the message that I wanted to my clients through my work. Now, I feel proud that I’m paving my own pathway and that my ultimate dream is getting closer by the second. I believe “Art is the gift of God, and being an artist is a blessing.” The best feeling is when my clients show their appreciation towards me by treating me just like a member of their family or writing a personal thank you note about me and my work. It inspires me to bring the best out of myself.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Dallas is a vibrant city with a lot to offer. Klyde Warren Park is one of my favorite places to hangout with my family or friends during the week. This park is situated in the heart of downtown Dallas and it features a variety of activities, including yoga time, outdoor movies, food trucks, water activities and a performance pavilion. It’s a great place to relax and capture beautifully styled pictures. The Dallas Museum of Art is my second favorite place to visit. This museum features a collection of more than 24,000 works of art from around the world, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. As I live in Coppell, The Sound at Cypress Waters is another popular outdoor music venue in Coppell that hosts a variety of concerts and festivals throughout the year. This place has amazing restaurants like the Local Diner, Main Street Bistro & Bakery, Rodeo Goat etc. Last but not least, Shops at legacy is another one of my favorite places to walk around and relax with friends anytime over the weekend. This place is popular for shopping and entertainment.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to credit my husband Ravi Volimineni and my two kids Sumedh and Sanvi who whole heartedly supported me in pursuing my passion. Pursuing a passion is not an easy thing especially in the arts as it can be isolating, but having supportive family members who believe in you and provide you the support to stay motivated and high in self-esteem are the best benefactors of my life.
